Why it keeps coming back
Cigarette or marijuana odor in a home usually shows up like this:
- Rental turnover after a smoking tenant
- Condo / apartment neighbor smoke that settled in the unit
- Home sale prep — smell affecting showings
- HVAC that keeps recirculating smoke smell
- Cars or small contents are less common here — this page is about property odor

What the exclusive partner does
PuroClean Northwest (Bob Jordan, Lynnwood) walks the space, treats the surfaces and the air, and gives an on-site estimate. We don’t quote a price here.
- Walk through the space and see how long it was smoked in, and whether it was already painted over
- Treat walls, ceilings, cabinets, and floors — residue sits in painted surfaces; this is not a wipe-down
- Address HVAC and the air in the space so smell is not just recirculated
- Remove textiles that cannot be saved
- Give an on-site estimate. This page does not quote a price.
Every job is different. A house that was smoked in for years takes more work than a short guest stay, so PuroClean Northwest sets expectations honestly after seeing the space.
FAQ
Are you the company that cleans the unit?
The odor work is done by PuroClean Northwest (Bob Jordan, Lynnwood). This site, arranged by ParlayVu, connects you with them directly.
Is this just a wipe-down?
No. Cigarette residue sits in painted surfaces. A wall can look clean and still hold smell. Brown residue can come back after a surface looks wiped clean.
Can I just paint over the smoke?
Painting over smoke usually traps the smell. Tell us if you already painted over it — that changes the job. Restore the existing finish first when that’s practical. A full repaint is not the default.
How long until the smell is gone?
It depends on how long and how heavily the space was smoked in. Long-term smoking usually takes more than one round of treatment, while a short guest stay is a smaller job. PuroClean Northwest will tell you what to expect after the on-site assessment.
Will an air machine or fogger fix it?
Air machines and foggers do not replace removing residue from walls, ceilings, trim, and cabinets. They are not a substitute for that work.
Is this for house-fire smoke or flood?
No. This page is cigarette / tobacco odor only — not fire rebuild, flood, or mold. If there is an active fire, call emergency services first.
Will insurance pay?
Often no for cigarette or marijuana odor. PuroClean Northwest will say if a claim applies, and they estimate on site. We don’t quote a price and we don’t promise coverage.
I’m a tenant — can I still send a request?
Yes — use the form and pick Tenant. The partner decides whether they can be hired without the owner.
